Gundled Gazette: Zero Chill Chop Shop

For the pride edition of Zero Chill in 2025, the theme was “Chop Shop.” We synthesized a few interpretations of the chop shop theme to create another Gazette: Americana junkyard cyborg, outlandish surgical operations, and getting chopped. With some curatorial prompting, we invited nine collaborators to create this absurd world with us through writing, illustration, and collage and featured dozens of classified ads from community heads in a 16-page newspaper.

We also developed a sound installation which played in an abandoned junkyard taxi inside the warehouse with some good old long-form interview journalism by NPR’s own Very Gross. She spoke with all of the imagined creatures in the Chop Shop sewer. One partygoer even managed to get trapped inside the taxi and tweeted about it.
